At the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment (AHW), we're dedicated to ensuring our funded partners have the tools and expertise to maximize their impact. To support this commitment, we offer the Technical Assistance Provider (TAP) program—a resource designed to enhance the success and sustainability of community health projects across Wisconsin.

Specialized Support for Project Success

The TAP program connects qualified AHW-funded project teams with experienced consultants who provide specialized expertise across various critical areas. From strategic planning to sustainability, these professionals help organizations strengthen their initiatives and achieve lasting impact.

“Through AHW's Technical Assistance Provider program, we have worked with some incredible consultants that have helped us create strategic plans and do other things that have helped make our work more sustainable," says Hollie White, Adult Clinical Services Director at Professional Services Group. This real-world impact underscores the value of TAP in helping projects reach their full potential.

Comprehensive Support in Key Areas

TAP partners offer expertise in eight essential areas that contribute to a project's long-term success:

  • Community Engagement: Strengthening relationships and participation within target communities.
  • Evaluation: Providing insights on measuring impact and demonstrating program effectiveness.
  • Grant Writing: Helping secure additional funding to expand project reach.
  • Health Equity and Inclusivity: Ensuring initiatives effectively address disparities.
  • Marketing and Communications: Crafting strategic messaging to engage key stakeholders.
  • Partnership Development: Building strong collaborations and networks.
  • Program Development: Designing and implementing effective interventions.
  • Sustainability: Planning for long-term success and community impact.

Access to Expert Guidance

A key benefit of the TAP program is accessibility. Each eligible AHW-funded project can receive up to 20 hours of TAP services per project year at no additional cost. This ensures that all partners—regardless of budget constraints—can access the specialized guidance they need to strengthen their work.

Enhancing Impact and Efficiency

Through the TAP program, project teams can:

  • Develop tailored strategies to address unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Overcome implementation barriers with expert guidance.
  • Strengthen collaborations and partnerships.
  • Access specialized knowledge that complements their existing expertise.
  • Make informed decisions that maximize impact.

Empowering Communities for Lasting Health Impact

The TAP program is a valuable resource in AHW’s mission to advance health for all Wisconsinites. By providing expert guidance and specialized support, the TAP program strengthens the capacity of funded partners, helping them navigate challenges, enhance sustainability, and maximize their impact. This commitment ensures that community health initiatives across Wisconsin are well-equipped to drive meaningful, lasting change—moving us closer to a healthier, more equitable future for all.
